Deze herfst presenteert ENTR een bijzondere primeur: ‘De Botermarkt 1675’, een unieke ervaring in virtual reality in De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam (Eggertzaal). Vanaf 1 oktober krijgen bezoekers drie maanden lang de kans om door het Amsterdam van 1675 te wandelen. De Botermarkt – het huidige Rembrandtplein – herleeft, compleet met handelaren, straatartiesten en het levendige stadsleven van toen. Voor het eerst in Nederland wordt erfgoed op deze schaal via VR-technologie tastbaar gemaakt voor een breed publiek.
Geschiedenis beleven
In plaats van naar het verleden te kijken, lopen bezoekers er samen letterlijk doorheen. Ze wandelen over de markt en worden midden in het stadsleven van 350 jaar geleden geplaatst. De VR-ervaring is ontwikkeld op basis van historische bronnen, in samenwerking met het Stadsarchief van Amsterdam, waardoor elk detail zo nauwkeurig mogelijk aansluit bij de realiteit van toen.
De droom achter ENTR
ENTR is een initiatief van oprichter Vincent Slangen. Zijn inspiratie kwam tijdens een interactieve theatershow in New York, waar hij merkte hoeveel impact het heeft om onderdeel te worden van een verhaal in plaats van er alleen naar te kijken. Met ENTR wil hij die magie vertalen naar het Nederlandse culturele erfgoed.

Exclusieve preview in iconische setting
Met deze pilot ervaring zet ENTR de eerste stap naar een permanent VR museum in Amsterdam. Tijdens de viering van 750 jaar Amsterdam krijgen bezoekers in De Nieuwe Kerk een exclusieve preview van wat komen gaat. De locatie voor deze pilot – één van de meest iconische plekken van de stad – vormt een bijzondere setting om kennis te maken met deze nieuwe manier van cultuur beleven.
Met ‘De Botermarkt 1675’ laat ENTR zien hoe geschiedenis en technologie samenkomen en cultuur op een nieuwe manier toegankelijk wordt.
